While in Thailand I got the chance to visit the Long-Neck Karen Hill Tribe people. It was the first time I had ever seen a person with rings around there neck that wasn't in a National Geographic. The rings on the neck reach from the clavicle up to beneath the chin, and these rings are always held very tighly by the bone structure from clavicle to chin. This neck ring adornment is started when the girls are 5 or 6 years old and the neck grows longer as additional rings are added with each passing year. It is from this practice that this tribe has gained the name of "Long Necks". I also had the oppurtunity to hold a set of rings, and they were way heavier than i would have thought. On our way to Thailand we stopped in Japan, and I was fascinated with the toilets.  At first glance it looks like a typical toilet, until you check out the buttons on the side..........  You have a plethora of options to assist you with you duty..... (pun?). My favorite being the flushing sound that you can use to disguise your bodies embarrassing sounds. And yes you can control the volume. Last but not least if you look to the far right you can see a deodorizer, but not just any, it is a "powerful deodorizer". As you all know, I just spent the last 6 weeks in Thailand. I have a friend that works for an airline, and through her connections and a lot of luck, I managed to get a first class ticket on my flight to Japan. One word for you............... RIDICULOUS!!!! First of all there was only 10 people in our whole cabin, and there are only 4 seats per row across the whole plane. I started off with what felt like a 10 course meal, and ate for at least 2 hours straight. You don't have to watch the same movies that economy has, instead you get to choose whatever movies you want from a bin and watch them on your own personal player. I felt like a kid at Disney world trying to take everything in because I didn't know the next time I would get to be back. But my favorite part of it all was the fact that my seat turned into a bed............  Komodo Rendezvous 03/20/2009
I was in Hawaii a few months ago and decided to go to the zoo. I saw tigers, turtles, and monkeys, but the most interesting thing i saw was some komodo dragons mating.  A female came onto the scene and the male swiftly made his move.  Komodo baby making.  I guess they are not into spooning. They went their separate ways.  This day will go down in history as the most educational zoo visit ever. "MO"vember 03/10/2009
This is way late, but better late than never. As you all know, I have been living in Australia for the last year, and every year when November comes around there is a huge fundraiser called MOVEMBER that raises funds and awareness for men's health . Basically if you are a dude, you grow a stache for the whole month, and get people to sponsor it. Check out the webstite http://www.movember.com . It is a really great cause that more people should be involved in.  The good old handlebar mustache. It's no Tom Sellick, but I impressed myself with the growth. It felt odd at first, but then i went to the store to buy some food, and saw about 7 other dudes rocking the handlebar. I had never met any of them in my life, but we nodded at each other when we passed. Kind of like when a Harley passes a Harley.....but maybe not that cool. Anyway, I had a lot of fun growing it, and seeing all of the other guys walking around the city with moes. It is catching on globally, so I challenge you to grow a mo next Movember.
